Resources

We are frequently asked if there are resources to help families cover the direct and indirect expenses associated with the education of child with special needs.  Before you investigate these resources, please note that neither the TAMRA Learning Academy staff nor its officers have any affiliation with the institutions listed below.

To help you prepare, we recommend the following:

  1. Have your financial information readily available and scanned if possible.  This includes
    1. Tax Returns from the most recent tax year
    2. Pay stubs
    3. SSI Disability
    4. Sources of secondary income
    5. Tuition statements from your child’s school
  2. Your Child’s diagnostic information
    1. Date of Diagnosis
    2. Name and contact information for your child’s care provider(s)
  3. A statement of need
    1. Be prepared to share household expenses (mortgage, utilities, vehicle loans, etc)
    2. Be factual and brief in the details you provide
  4. Carefully track the submission dates for the grants you are pursuing.
    1. It may take a few grant submission cycles before your efforts produce financial assistance.
    2. Stay positive and persistent
